Pakistan Concerned Over Indian Allegations
The Mumbai siege is finally over! Now let the accusations begin!
As if tensions weren’t already high enough between longtime enemies India and Pakistan, the BBC now reports that allegations of terrorist links by the former country against the latter are brewing up a situation that could prove to be the spark that ignites a deadly powder keg in a volatile region of the world.
According to the BBC, “Pakistan has expressed concern about rising tensions with India following allegations that gunmen who attacked Mumbai this week had Pakistani links.”Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and his government have strenuously denied any involvement in the horrific attacks in Mumbai and have pledged “full cooperation” with their counterparts in New Delhi.
The recent attacks on India’s commercial center, which began on Wednesday, have resulted in 195 deaths. Additionally, up to 327 people are estimated to have been injured. Islamic militants used machine guns and grenades to unleash a campaign of violence and terror that lasted nearly 60 hours.
“Troops killed the last of the gunmen at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel on Saturday,” the BBC reports. Although the exact number of attackers is not known at this point, various media sources say that “as few as 10 militants may have been involved in the assault which saw attacks in multiple locations including two hotels, a major railway station, a hospital and a Jewish centre.”
A previously unknown group called the DeccanMujahideen has claimed responsibility for the attacks, although it is unclear whether it actually exists or is just a fictional creation being used to mislead law enforcement officials.

Sounds like the terrorists are going to get what they wanted…
