Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants the Role of a Lifetime
So what’s going down in the world, Animal?
Well my loyal readers, your humble and esteemed reporter was doing his usual news surfing this morning when he came across an interesting story about Kulifornia Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, courtesy of the good folks over at AOL News.
As many of you know, Ahnuld has played a wide range of characters throughout his career – man-killing cyborg, smelly barbarian, kindergarten cop, deranged construction worker, pregnant male, secret agent, and two-term governor. Now it looks like he’s eyeing a new role – President of the United States.
In a recent interview with “60 Minutes,” Schwarzenegger loudly hinted that he might consider making a run for the White House in the not-too-distant future.
“Yeah, absolutely,” said the governor. “I think that I am always a person that looks for the next big goal. And I love challenges. I always set goals that are so high, that are almost impossible to achieve. Because then, you’re always hungry for climbing and climbing. Because it’s always interesting. The climb is always interesting. When you get there you just have to pick another goal.”
AOL News thinks there might be a problem with this idea, however.
“Schwarzenegger was, of course, not born in the U.S.A. so it would take some rule changing before he’s able to launch a presidential bid.”
Why should Arnie care about what the Constitution says? No one else does!
All joking aside, should we change the Constitution in order to make it legal for naturalized Americans citizens to run for the top job? I don’t think so. No foreign-born citizen should be allowed to sit in the Oval Office, especially if that person holds dual citizenship like Schwarzenegger does.
By the way, I’m not saying this because I have anything against the Governator or any other foreign-born Americans. As a matter of fact, I am a foreign–born American. I just believe the Founding Fathers were right to think that a naturalized chief executive might be susceptible to foreign influence. Unfortunately, barring foreign lobbyists from coming within 200 feet of our nation’s capital never crossed their minds. Instead of changing the Constitution so that naturalized citizens can run for president, why don’t we outlaw these cunning petitioners instead?

Not only should we not change the constitution but there is now way in hell we should allow the governator to run for office. He can’t even sufficiently run the state. The budget is still in limbo with that idiot wanting to cut school and social programs. Could you imagine what he would do in the White House? He’d probably be worse than Bush.
