New York Governor Said to be “Leaning” Toward Kennedy
Well, my fellow politicons, it looks like New York Governor David Paterson might give Princess Caroline from the magical land of Camelot what she wants after all. Here’s the latest on The Princess Diaries, courtesy of the good folks over at MSNBC.
“Officials say the daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy will be the governor’s choice to fill the New York Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Rodham Clinton.”
Word has it two people close to the governor have told The Associated Press it is their belief that the sole surviving member of the House of Kennedy will be appointed to Clinton’s seat, even though “the governor cautions he’s still looking.”
According to The New York Times, Paterson told members of the press during a New Year’s Day open house at the executive mansion that “It ain’t nothin’ till I calls it.”
It also appears that Sheldon Silver, the New York State Assembly Speaker and an early skeptic of Kennedy’s appointment, has now jumped aboard the Caroline bandwagon.
What is Paterson thinking? I guess Kennedy would be a great choice if he’s merely seeking a placeholder for the seat. But former Congresswoman and vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro is correct in saying that whoever Paterson appoints should be knowledgeable in all the important issues and be able to “hit the ground running.” In this blogger’s opinion, the best candidates for Clinton’s seat are U.S. Representative Steve Israel and New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
Caroline Kennedy is the worst candidate. Even actress Fran Drescher would be a better choice.

ohhhh not fran drescher… hell give it to Tripp Palin’s mother-in-law before you give it to her….
seriously, everytime I even channel-surf by TBS (I think that’s the station that plays it) when the nanny comes on I think I throw up in my mouth a little bit…
