Karl Rove – Witless for the Prosecution?

Should Karl Rove be made to appear in court and give testimony? That’s a “thorny legal question” according to USA Today.

Oh really?

Politico.com asked this question yesterday morning.

“Should Bush administration political chief Karl Rove, who was a deputy chief of staff to the former president, have to testify before the House Judiciary Committee about the 2006 firings of eight U.S. attorneys and whether those dismissals were politically motivated? The committee has subpoenaed Rove.”

In what must come as a shock to many people, former President George W. Bush (God, I can’t say that enough!) doesn’t think so.

“President Bush, when he was in office, argued that his senior aides could not be forced to give such testimony because their work and advice are covered by ‘executive privilege’ and that a president can’t trust he’ll get candid advice if his top staff later must testify before Congress about what was said.”

Robert Luskin, Rove’s lawyer, has asked the Obama administration what it thinks. According to a White House spokesman, the issue is “being studied.”

So what do you think? Should Bush’s Brain have to put his hand on the Bible and swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

I’m no legal expert, and I’m not sure whether Rove should be made to give testimony, but, personally, I’d like to see that bastard in court.

Whether Rove goes to trial or not, Action Obama is going to lay the smackdown on his ass, just as soon as he gets done with Rush Limbaugh! http://obamacomics.today.com
