Cheney: Obama’s Policies “Raise the Risk” of Another Terror Attack in U.S.

The Big Dick is back! And he is not too happy with our current POTUS.

The former vice president told an interviewer for CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday that he thinks President Barack Obama is endangering America by reversing the Bush administration’s policies on “alternative” interrogation techniques, which Cheney feels are “absolutely essential” to prevent future terrorist attacks in the United States like the one that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Critics charge that these techniques constitute torture of terrorist suspects.

“President Obama campaigned against it all across the country, and now he is making some choices that, in my mind, will, in fact, raise the risk to the American people of another attack,” Cheney said.

“Since taking office in January, Obama has announced plans to close the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to halt the military trials of suspected terrorists there, and to make CIA officers follow the Army field manual’s rules on interrogations,” CNN reports.

Cheney also spent part of the interview defending the Bush’s administrations handling of the economy, saying he and his boss did the best they could in dealing with multiple crises.

“Stuff happens, and an administration has to be able to respond to that and we did,” Cheney said.

Former President Bush has faced criticism from several quarters for taking a budget surplus he inherited from his predecessor, President Bill Clinton, and turning it into a large deficit.

With regard to the Bush administration’s highly controversial invasion of Iraq, Cheney said, “We’ve accomplished nearly everything we set out to do.”

The former vice president also commented on radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s recent offer to debate Obama.

“Hell, I’d pay to see that,” Cheney said. “I think Rush is a good man and serves a very important purpose.”

Of course he would. Assholes of a feather flock together. Good riddance to this creep of a veep.

Do any of you out there actually support the use of torture on prisoners? If so, why? My feeling about this practice is that it probably does not work real well. If someone is being tortured, wouldn’t they be inclined to just make up something in order for the pain to stop? What if the prisoner is actually innocent?

Great piece. I cannot stand that piece of shit Cheney. He probably has made more money than anyone else because of the war due largely to his Haliburton connection. Anyone who thinks he just walked away with a settlement and an attractive severance plan is just foolish. I agree with you, and there have been studies attesting to it, that a prisoner being tortured will say anything to stop the pain. Regardless; isn’t that what the North Vietnamese did to our officers at the Hanoi Hilton (among others) and we’re still screaming about that. One final note; Obama said that he was closing Gitmo within a year but never said that those who were SERIOUSLY thought of as being involved in terrorist attacks were not going to stand trial. Cheney should sit in the seat (they’ll probably need a large couch) right next to that other fat bastard who condones these practices and let Obama expose them for the sadistic fucks they are. Make room for Rumsfeld boys.

Exactly. It’s been proven it’s not effective, people will say what they want to hear to stop from being tortured. And it makes us no better than them, either.

And I’m pretty sure Cheney’s policies, specifically the ones that put him in charge of NORAD on 9/11 for the first time in our country ever, led to the first attack. Ugh.

I really hope Biden turns out to be a better veep than this guy. Hopefully, Joe will follow the constitution.

If I were Cheney, I’d say the same thing. If we are attacked, then it’s “I told you so.” If not, just another burp from the Prince of Darkness. A cynical gamble on his part, but the GOP is facing hard times, so why not?
Makes me sick to even consider this motive.
