According to The Associated Press, talk radio guru Don Imus announced Monday morning that he is struggling with stage two prostate cancer, “but expressed confidence in a full recovery.”  

The 68-year-old media personality gave this news to the public from his show in New York, which airs on ABC Radio Networks and RDF-TV, a satellite and cable channel. 

“He said he wrestled with the idea of making it public, but figured he should because he might have to miss some work due to treatment,” says AP writer David Bauder.

Imus, who runs a charity devoted to helping children who are afflicted cancer, joked,”I’m changing the name of the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer to the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with cancer and me.”

The diagnosis came as a surprise to Imus, who says he’s been sticking to a healthy diet for the last 10 years.

According to Buader, “He noted that doctors seemed reluctant to talk about one of his big worries: What prostate cancer treatment will mean for his sex life.”

Okay, that one should give me nightmares for the next couple of weeks.

This animal sends his wishes to the I-Man for a successful and speedy recovery. True, the guy probably doesn’t give a hoot about anything I have to say, but who cares?

I have been a fan of the I-Man and his provocative and no-nonsense style since 2005 when I started watching his old show, Imus in the Morning, which unfortunately got axed a few years ago by cowardly MSNBC execs because of the outrage caused by a remark Imus made about a group of female basketball players. Sure, the remark was thoughtless and stupid, but the I-Man apologized for it and that should have been the end of the story. But apparently it wasn’t enough for Jesse “Hymietown” Jackass, Al “Buy Black” Sharptooth, and the rest of the Politically Correct Gestapo.

So here is to you I-Man! Get well and keep up the good work!
